Selling coca leaves in Rurre.

Bolivia - Coroico - November 10 and 11

We then left Coroico to go to Rurrenabaque, a small town in the middle of the Amazonian region. We crossed Yunga for at least 4 hours. Then it was dark so we could not see. The sceneries were beautiful but the dirt road wasn't better than the road from La Paz to Coroico. Not good for those who have vertigo like me!

Coroico is at the frontier with the Amazonian forest. This is a view from our hotel.

Bolivia - Coroico - November 10 and 11

In Coroico a part of the population is black. This is due to the fact that to work in silver mines they brought people from Africa. On the picture we can see that they adopted the traditional clothes of La Paz.

Bolivia - Coroico - November 10 and 11

We left La Paz for Coroico a charming little town in the Yunga region. To go there though there is no choice but to drive on the ¨Death Road¨. It is the most dangerous road in the world with 100 deaths per year. So we preferred to do the 70 kilometers on a mountain bike. 2 wheels are better than 4 on a narrow road.
