Before leaving Malaysia for Singapore, we went to the Island of Pulau Duyong, a small fishing village which remains authentic. We were warmly welcomed to the Yellow House by Awi and Christine. A charming guest house on the river (see picture).
We left Thailand for Singapore. We spent the night there before taking a train for Malaysia to reach Taman Negara. This National Park is the oldest rainforest in the world, 130 million years old. We took a boat on the river to enter the park.
We left Ayutthaya to go to Chiang Mai, a lovely town in the North of Thailand. As it was raining the 1st day we decided to take a Thai cooking class. On the picture I am making the green curry paste to make Chicken Green Curry. That day we also made Pad Thai, Thai Chicken Salad, Hot and Sour Soup, and Mango Sticky Rice.
We left Khao Yai to go to the old capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya. It was the capital for 417 years before it was completely destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. On the picture, the temple of Phu Khao Thong.
We quickly decided to leave Bangkok to visit the National Park of Khao Yai wekk known for its wild life. We indeed could observe 2 million bats get out of their cave (see picture) at sunset. It took them 1 hour to get out.
