Australia - Red Center - August 18 to 21

We arrived in Australia on August 18. A day filled with adventures! We flew to Darwin and then to Alice Springs. In Alice Springs Christophe's bag is missing. We talk to the Qantas and they tell us that the bag is at Cairns. They can have it sent back to Alice Springs for 1:30 PM (it is 9:30 AM!) Never mind we will visit Alice Springs this Morning and will drive to Uluru this afternoon. At 1:30 PM Christophe gets is bag back. We can finally start driving to Uluru (Ayers Rock). We manage to drive for 150 kilometers before the bearing of the front right wheel breaks. Christophe is driving and cannot break. He lets the car stop on its own and it finally stops right next to a dead kangaroo. Great! here we are in the middle of nowhere with a broken car and a horrible smell! However our luck changed. A vehicle approaches us 5 minutes later. We wave and the driver stops a few meters away. This is where we are very lucky! the vehicle he is driving is a tow truck and he has room for our car. He was kind enough to take us and our broken car to the next town 50 kilometers away (well! it only is a gas station and a motel next to it). The rental car agency brought us another car 7 hours later from Alice Srpings. We spent the night at the motel next to the gas station.
