Bolivia - Potosi - November 20 and 21

We left Sucre and went to Potosi, a town famous for its mines. During the colonial time it was the biggest silver mine in the world. In the mines is found silver, zinc and lead. Today those mines are still running. In Potosi, a miner's life expectancy is greatly reduced because of the toxic gas that comes from the minerals. On the picture is the mount Potosi where all the mines are. Thousands of miners still work in those mines.
